Take the profit out of United Utilities Group PLC (UU.L)

United Utilities Group PLC (UU.L) have monopoly to supply water to 7,000,000 people in the Northwest of England. Between March 13-14 they charged the 7 million people £1.7BILLION and boasted a 46.09% PROFIT margin (£786,000,000) which is more profit than the two previous years 2011-2013 combined (£644,000,000).
Why are they allowed to make so much profits on water, something what is not a luxury that anyone can survive without. United Utilities make them profits after paying Chief Exec. Mr. Steven Lewis Mogford £1,530,000pa and Chief Financial Officer Mr. John Russell Houlden £976,000pa for selling us water.
£786,000,000 profit means the 7,000,000 in the Northwest are each being over charged £112.28 each per year to survive.
We either need other suppliers to choose from or let local councils provide the water with profits going back into public services.
For example 320,295 people live on the Wirral if the Wirral Council was to make the £112 profits from each person instead of United Utilities Group PLC it would have generated £35,873,040 from last year and would not have to cut public services by £15.500,000 from £18m right down to £2.5m.
Our roads are a mess, businesses are closing down, we can afford schools, people have literally been taxed so far out of their bedrooms that they are homeless and out the system.
