Bring Back 'The Black Suits'!

In 2013, Joe Iconis's rock musical 'The Black Suits' premiered at Center Theater Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, ran for a short time, then quietly closed its doors with no cast album or professional recording made available. This poses an issue which many Iconis fans are becoming more and more passionate about.

The fans of other work by Mr. Iconis, most notably the internet sensation now on Broadway, 'Be More Chill,' sometimes stumble upon 'The Black Suits' while searching for other music by the composer. The short clips of the show available online feature catchy, relatable songs such as 'Blue Hair,' 'Rock 'N' Roll Band' and the fan favorite 'Amphibian.' However, these are few and far between and only leave those who find them wanting more. In the theatre world, leaving the audience eager is usually a good thing, but not when there is simply no more for them to see.

Many fans, including myself, have spent hours scouring the internet in search of more songs, dialogue, anything, but are only left disappointed by the small taste of 'The Black Suits' able to be found. We as theatre fans, and especially as passionate fans of Mr. Iconis's work, would be thrilled to see more of what promises to be an amazing show. As such, I would like to request that Mr. Iconis consider reviving 'The Black Suits' at some point in the future so that more content can be available to those of us that are already invested, and hopefully also so that more people can discover the show and what it has to offer. I believe that, given the opportunity, 'The Black Suits' can grow to be successful, have a large fanbase excited to see it live and listen to the music, and be a greatly renowned addition to the work by Mr. Iconis that so many already love.
