LEGALIZE SUGAR GLIDERS IN CALIFORNIA

Sugar Gliders are illegal in California under Section 671, Title 14, of the California Code of Regulations (CCR).

Because of California's climate the result of a Sugar Glider surviving in the wild would not be likely. They'd die around a week or so, but they would make great pets for people who are willing to own up to commitment and responsibility.

You see, Sugar Gliders are unique and intelligent creatures, easy to care for too.The easiest solution for keeping them as house pets is to keep them under surveillance. However, people would have to know the conditions of having these small exotic animals as pets. If your Sugar Glider does not have a companion or it's environment is not as stimulating, they will become bored and lonely and depressed. I have taken into consideration the responsibility of owning one and I am fully aware that these are not your everyday pocket pets. It's not something to have buy by impulse.

I'm very serious about legalizing Sugar Gliders into California and I refuse to give up. For the most part, I want one myself yet I'm sure many other pet owners and animals lovers would want one too.

Here are some facts I've gathered:

- they aren't animals that carry many diseases that are infectious or dangerous to humans
- they don't repopulate with other animals
- they don't run away so easily
- they aren't that big of a threat, they're literally so small and fragile
- if they do fight, it's only by instinct to protect themselves as anyone would
