Term Limits for Oneida County New York

In order to strengthen good government values in Oneida County elected leadership, support for term limits is gaining momentum for a county-wide referendum for implementing 8-year limits for county elected officials.

Term limits are a "checks and balances" means to counteract incumbency advantage and entrenchment of power into a concentrated small number of hands. By limiting the number of terms individuals can hold office, the door is left open for more citizens to step into leadership roles, interjecting more diverse perspectives and solutions into the decision-making process.

*** Please sign this petition to have the Oneida County Board of Legislators to place a referendum for term limits of 8 consecutive years for Oneida County elected officials. Your support can help make the difference.

County Executive Candidate, Mike Hennessy ,County Legislative Candidates James Zecca,19th Legislative District and James Herchek, 12th Legislative District, and other volunteers are circulating petitions with a goal of reaching citizens from every township in Oneida County including the City of Utica and Rome. Your signature and sharing is certainly appreciated.
