Culling Is Illegal in India. Why Is MP Pratap Simha Supporting the Practice?

In February, Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha publicly stated that "stray dogs should be culled without compassion." Not only is this statement cruel, it is also advocating for a practice that is against the law in the country. Culling simply does not work, and legislators should not be making such terrifyingly inaccurate and inhumane statements.

Sign now to demand MP Simha directly apologize for this statement and pivot to supporting spay, neuter, and vaccine programs for stray dogs!

Even animal lovers understand that an increase in stray dogs can lead to a whole slew of problems for both the animals and humans that already live there. But there are many ways to effectively and ethically manage stray populations, and culling is not one of them.

The best way to deal with stray populations is through spay and neuter programs, as well as increased public education campaigns. Research has proven over and over again that this is both the most humane practice and the only strategy that actually works.

It is time MP Simha apologize for his dangerous and ill-informed statement. Sign the petition now to tell him to apologize and set the record straight on how to help stray dogs!
