RED ALERT: Stop the Killing of USA Wolves II; Please sign, rather urgent!

  • by: Isa Villanen
  • recipient: U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack

THE TEXT BELOW IS FROM TTHE ORIGINAL PETITION:

The federal Wildlife Services agency, a branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is the number one wolf-killer in the United States.

Now, even in the face of a court ruling restoring protections to these iconic animals, they want to expand their wolf-killing operations.

Wildlife Services plans to work with Idaho officials to kill up to 80 percent of the wolves in central Idaho by land and from air. Their plan also includes killing entire packs -- including gassing helpless wolf pups in their dens -- and surgically sterilizing alpha wolf pairs.

Help save Idaho's wolves. Urge Obama's Secretary of Agriculture to cancel the planned wolf slaughter and rein in Wildlife Services

Original petition:   http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/902/232/556/#sigs/902232556/letter/6 is now closed, but lets try and rally enough signers to make beth betitions add up to at least 70,000 signatures!

There is also an activist alert listing in the news for all petitions needing signatures for this cause.

Mr. Secretary Tom Vilsack,

we have made these petitons to increase of your awareness the real threat our wolces ate at the presen time. In the early times, when colonization bega, the kilin was ruthless.

Seven races of the gray wolf are now extinct by human actions: bounty hunting and fur hunting. The red wolf, the Newfoundland race was the first to become extinct. The red wolf became extinct in the wild in the 1970s, A reintroduction program in portions of its original range has brought the species back, and about 100 - 200 red wolves now live in the wild. Around 1911, the Newfoundland race of gray wolves, pure white, and large. was the first to become extinct.

We do not want this happening again, since the rate of species extinction accelerates as the global warnimg get worse.

All the wolves should be protected for thw future by ESA, so that our next gemerations could have the opportunity have a glimpse of a wilf in the wild.
