There is abundant evidence that psychiatric drugs cause violent reactions including mania, hostility, violence, aggression and homicidal ideation. Between 2004 and 2011 their have been 12,755 reports to the U.S. FDA's MedWatch of psychiatric drugs causing violent reactions including 359 cases of homicide, 2,795 cases of mania and 7,250 cases of aggression. By the FDA's own admission, only 1-10% of side effects are ever reported to the FDA, so the actual number of side effects occurring are most certainly higher. State and County police booking forms where detainees are required to list any medications, including psychiatric medications they may be taking are already required and collected. This bill would utilize the data collected to analysis the impact psychiatric drugs have on the increase of violent crimes and suicides. AbleChild is a non-profit grassroots parent organization that works on informed consent and the right to refuse products and services offered by the psychiatric and drug industry.
