Jude Odenthal, Spa Director and previous Facilities Manager, was fired without cause from the Galaxy on June 16, 2014. We, a group of owners and residents, have many questions for the Board and Management regarding the reasons behind this decision and the process by which it was carried out. These questions are listed below. Our intention is to forward this list to the Board and Management, and request a timely response.
It is our fiduciary duty as owners to demand both candor and transparency from the Board and Management in this as well as all important decisions affecting the quality of our lives at the Galaxy. Owners and residents who support this effort to clarify the circumstances of Mr. Odenthal’s dismissal are asked to sign their names below and note their apt #.
Why was an honored, respected, promoted employee of 10 years fired without cause?
Why was he never given an opportunity by management or the Board to speak on his own behalf?
What is, and where is, any of the support for any of the allegations that were trumped up?
What was the role of management and the Board in his firing?
Please tell us what happened regarding the false report that Jude “threatened the General Manager.”
Why was the Security Guard who wrote that report fired?
Who initially brought up any allegations against Jude?
Who requested Jude’s termination – the Board or management? And when?
Who requested that the Corporate Attorney and Accountant question Jude?
Who wrote the list of questions?
Why was he denied his requests to have it taped for transparency or have a witness there for fairness?
Who is the lawyer advising the GTCA and is there any connection between First Residential and the lawyer?
Does the new Facilities Manager have any employment history with First Residential or with the new General Manager?
Has the Board investigated any possible prior associations of these individuals?
Does First Residential Services now have complete authority over who works here and who doesn’t?
How could the 5 members of the Board vote to fire Jude do so without even talking with him?
What does management and the majority of the Board have to gain by Jude’s firing?
