Students are you tired of lugging your book bags, sports bags, gym bags, lunchbox, pocketbook, instrument, and projects around all day? Parents are you tired of seeing your child carry around a twenty pound or more book bag along with other things on a day to day basis. Seems like a lot right? I know, well this is what this petition is for. Students should be able to utilize the lockers at Sampson Middle School. Most middle schools in Sampson County have and allow the students to utilize the lockers. All students should have a light load throughout their school day. Meaning full access throughout the day going to their lockers. Allowing them to go Only in the morning is pointless.
The benefits of having lockers:
• Beneficial to store books and other materials
• Security helps students take care and value their possessions
• Improves personal responsibility, organizational skills, and time management skills
• Reduce strain ( half of all students suffer back pain by the age 14 and doctors are reporting a rise in cases of spinal abnormalities in pupils, including disfiguring curvatures known as scoliosis)
