My name is Aquanna Overton and I was born in Greenville, Ms; raised in Leland and Indianola, Ms.I now live in Houston, TX and I am writing this petition for the sake of my friend Danielle Davenport. She was killed on March 24th, 2017; 27 yrs old with 4 kids was abused mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually by her then bf who cause her to crashed and left her there to die. I do know that she didnt deserve to die that way and she is one of few women that is a victim of abuse. Too many women young and old in the state of Mississippi are being abused by men who feel like all women are dogs, slaves, and should have no right to speak, think, feel, or be independent as far as being herself. Kids are the ones who witness abuse among their mother by a father of theirs, step-father, new boyfriend, or whoever and 9x out of 10, they are either involve with an abuse towards their mother when they become teens and/or do it to a innocent girl by middle/high school. Most likely the daughters will end up with a guy who will be the alleged abuser and try to make everything ok as if its her fault. I stand to you right now that its 2017 not 1817 to stop abuse, stop the silence, and speak up for women of all color, age, and ethics. I wanted all the women of Mississippi to get the help they need to get out of a predicament so other women and their kids won't have to suffer any fate of all from an abuser. I want this petition to be called Danielle Law to not only investigate further of the mother and kids showing signs of abuse physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but not to rule out the abuser, drug testing, lie detector, and to be seen by a shrink to see how and why it escalated. In order to stop the abuse, the abuse can be prevented by looking at the signs, speak up, and help out.
