Principal Emory Price was recently forced to resign or be terminated without just cause or explanation from McCowan Middle School, the LARGEST middle school in the Tri City Area.
To save his name from getting a "non-renewal" on his record, he was given an ultimatum to resign Gracefully or leave with a bad mark. Desoto ISD is widely known for having "Political and Behind Closed Door Deals/ Handshakes" which yields in losing MOST of the Quality Teachers, Coaches and Principals to other surrounding Districts. Principal Price has taken a Troublesome Middle School to a Middle School that has Gained Recognition in Positive Growth and Improvement on ALL LEVELS including but not limited to; Overall Test Scores i.e. Benchmark, STAAR, Common Assessment and Snapshot Tests to Personal/ Individual Maturity. He has worked Harder then any Administration from working on Off Days, Weekends, Holidays and Late Nights...He's sacrificed plenty of personal time to Assure McCowan's Success in just 9 Months and has been recognized for his Outstanding Dedication, yet, at the hands of new Administration within DesotoISD, he's been FORCED to resign along with other Principals and Staff members. We believe as tax payers who pays the salaries of DESOTO I.S.D Administration, Voters who Voted for the elected Officials on Desoto ISD BOARD, Parents of children who currently attend schools in DesotoISD, we feel Several things are Owed to the Parents And Community in Desoto: 1. Transparency 2. Communications as to why Important Key Personnel Such as Principals are not being renewed 3. More involvement in decisions for OUR CHILDREN in Schools WE PAY FOR rather then a templated "Thank you" note for Speaking or Voicing Our concerns at a Desoto ISD BOARD MEETING that yields Nothing...at least Nothing that results for the benefits of our Children and our Community. We have created and signed this Petition in Hopes to Keep PRINCIPAL EMORY PRICE as PRINCIPAL of Curtisene McCowan Middle School and Allow him to continue to improve and clean up the Messes and Debts created Before Him.
