A Factory farm is a large, industrial operation that raises large numbers of animals for food. Over 99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in factory farms, which focus on profit and efficiency at the expense of the animals' welfare. In these farms, pigs are not allowed to ever see the light of day as they are only able to stand in a suffocating small cage and wait to be brutally murdered in the slaughterhouse. Dairy cows are constantly impregnated until they can no longer stand, and once they can no longer stand they are beaten and hooked up to a machine that painfully pulls the cow into a truck to be taken to the slaughterhouse. Hens are kept in cages so small their feathers stick out of the cage bars and all they can do is lay eggs that will either hatch into females and continue the cycle of suffrage, or hatch into males which will be violently thrown into grinders that will grind them live. Lastly, Chickens, the most tortured of all the factory farmed animals. They are shoved into poorly ventilated cages where they can barely move while they stand in their own feces. They will spend the rest of their lives (usually 45 days) until they are taken to the traumatizing slaughterhouse and savagely murdered. Most don’t even make it to the slaughterhouse and die from disease.
We must speak up! We must be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. These factory farms are completely unacceptable and we should not tolerate their actions! Currently, according to the statistics made by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 10 billion animals are killed for food each year, which equals to 19,011 animals killed per minute and 317 animals killed per second! Every minute we wait 19,011 more animals are savagely murdered; and even more tortured! Please take action and sign this petition! Help end their suffering!
