We, the residents and supporters of Golf Links Road/Fontaine Avenue/El Monte Avenue, implore you to take immediate action to protect our neighborhood from the hazards of the abandoned house at 8387 Golf Links Road in Oakland. This dilapidated structure has caught fire THREE TIMES in the past two years, and although the fire department has responded quickly each time, we fear the 4th time we might not be so lucky.
Please take quick and immediate action to condemn and tear down this derelict, unlivable building or to require the owners, whom none of us neighbors know how to contact, to take swift action to secure their property. It is a magnet for illegal, dangerous activities which pose a threat to the safety of our families and homes. We need you to take action now to protect our neighborhood. Neglecting this urgent matter is not an option. Lives and property are at stake.
