Education is more Important than Sports.

Education is more important than sports. We the students of Minnesota West Law Enforcement Program feel that things between the Law Enforcement Program and Robert Purcell has gone far enough. We believe that our education is being hindered because of the way he is treating our instructors and the way he treats the students. He is complaining about our shoot house that is located in the annex. We use that to train and work on our building entries. It gives us a hands on experience. The Shoot house is a valuable tool in the belt for Minnesota West. There is no one else in south west Minnesota that has one and yet the school is letting people destroy it? How is that right?
Minnesota West seems like they are taking the side that sports are more important than education. By making the Law Enforcement program take down the shoot house it is taking away a tool that could one day save our lives. Why should our education suffer? We are paying to go here. We are a face in the community. We do Community Service, Parades and other things to put a positive light on the college. There is no reason why the wrestlers need that whole area.
The program is starting a Summer Skills Program which is going to be appealing to people who are looking to go to school. That means there will be more to be offered at Minnesota West Law Enforcement program. When people are looking to go to school, they are going to see that they don’t have to go other places to get a quality education. It is an all in one college. We try to do what is best for this school and we would like to see there be a solution. A solution where we can still get the best quality of education that the school has to offer and the wrestlers are able to still practice without breaking our stuff. That you for your time.
