Drop Murder Charges Against Woman Who Attempted Self-Abortion!

A 31-year-old Tennessee woman attempted an abortion six months into her pregnancy and is now being charged with murder in the first degree. She is currently incarcerated with a $200,000 bail.

The defendant attempted the abortion in her bathtub, using a coat hanger. When the abortion attempt caused a large amount of blood to pool in the tub, she became concerned and her boyfriend took her to an emergency room. There, hospital staff recovered her baby, who weighed only 1.5 pounds and will suffer numerous medical problems through the rest of his life.

Women who lack access to abortion services are forced to take desperate measures. The woman in this case should not be punished for the choices she made with her own body. Please sign the petition to urge the Murfreesboro District Attorney to drop all charges against the woman!
