Unilever makes products used by 2.5 billion people each day. Products that one uses in their daily life like soap, shampoo, even food. Unilever admits to animal testing, but states that the practice is done primarily on cosmetic brands. Brands such as Axe, Dove, Suave, and St. Ives all may have ingredients that were brutally tested on animals.

Unilever claims that MOST of their products are not tested on animals, but most is not all. More than 100 million animals suffer and die just in the U.S. every year in cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics tests. These tests are also carried out in countries around the world, so imagine the number that that climbs to. Unilever's website attests that they do not conduct animal testing in their own laboratories, but it is done in other countries around the world.

Animal testing is NOT NECESSARY for cosmetics. There are hundreds of brands that do not utilize animal testing and have an extremely loyal customer base for this reason. Brands such as The Body Shop, Paul Mitchell, Kiss My Face, and Physician's Formula. If Unilever becomes an official cruelty-free brand they would attract many more customers thereby increasing sales. It's a no-brainer. Nobody buys these products BECAUSE they are tested on animals. This can only be a good thing for business.

Animal testing needs to stop now and Unilever can help pave the way for other big brands to join along. Unilever: please utilize one of the many alternatives to animal testing today!
