Implement Laws & Penalties against Livestock Producers Using Child Labor

A recent investigation has revealed that many of the cows and goats in the farming industry has been undergoing severe abuse and cruelty, all in the name of production and monetary gain.  What was missing in the last report is that much of the staff responsible for the abuse is children.  These youngsters, among others, are documented as performing hazardous tasks such as soaking hides in toxic chemicals and using knives to cut the skins, which are then used to make hand bags, shoes, and other leather products that are sold around the world, as stated in the following article.

These poor animals have endured the pain of being skinned while alive, having their throats slit while still standing and breathing, cutting off tails and inflicting other injuries, all without any veterinary medical attention.  The recent video of a current investigation shows that children are expected to perform these disgraceful acts as a means of child labor.  Not only are they taught to treat these animals inhumanely and without respect, children are also expected to work barefoot in cancer-causing chemicals when operating machinery and using acids that can cause chronic skin diseases.  It is estimated that 90 percent of workers in these conditions rarely live beyond the age of 50. Not only do these cow and goat farms need to implement safer, healthier methods of caring for the animals and the workers who tend to them, children do not in any way belong on the work force of livestock producers.

Our efforts in this particular petition is to encourage the President to implement laws and penalties against livestock producers using child labor.  Children should be children and not work in an adult world, especially in an environment of the livestock industry where they must learn to abuse animals as a way of life.  You can help us in our efforts by signing and sharing this petition.  Work with us to not only stop this animal abuse but also in banning the use of child labor that teaches children the inappropriate manner of handling and caring for animals.

President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid – Along with strongly urging you to place a strict ban on animal abuse in tanneries and the livestock producers industry, you need to also implement laws against the use of child labor in the livestock industry, inflicting severe punishments for any offenders.  Children should be children to play and learn; not work in an adult world, doing adult jobs.  It is so extremely inappropriate also to be teaching these kids while working with livestock or any other animals that it is perfectly okay and acceptable to abuse animals, treating them inhumanely and with disrespect.  Stop animal abuse once and for all and stop using children in any type of work force, especially with the livestock producers!  Protect those that cannot protect themselves like animals and children!!!
