Just days before Christmas, Antoine Draper received a phone call that made him sick to his stomach - someone had set Mimi on fire while she was giving birth to puppies. The dog was still burning when Draper got there - and he knows who did it.
Mr. Draper filed a police report and brought witnesses with him, but to this day, Mimi's killer - his brother's ex-girlfriend - is still free. Mimi's remains are still in the yard.

We the undersigned would like to see justice for Mimi, the pet of Mr. Antoine Draper.
Mimi was a pit bull that was set on fire while giving birth to puppies. Mr. Draper filed a police report and brought witnesses with him to the police station, yet Mimi's killer is free. We believe that someone who could commit such a heartless and heinous act should be punished to the fullest extent of the law before they ever have a chance to do it again. Crimes of this nature should be taken very seriously.
Mimi had no voice, so she could not call for help. She could not run away. We are her voice. Nothing we do will bring Mimi back, but Mr. Draper wants justice for her and we believe she deserves that.

I was looking up something completely unrelated to this crime on Google and came across this story. I am an avid dog lover - I have three - and I cannot fathom the psychotic individual who would do such a torturous thing to a living creature. This woman who did this clearly is mentally unstable and needs to be punished and taught anger management before she lashes out at a human being. I am so sorry for Mr. Draper's loss; I understand completely what cherished companions dogs can be and I'm so sorry that some people are too ignorant and violent to see a friend where there is one.
