Each year, more then 40,000 bulls are sadly killed. Bullfighting is inhumane and cruel. Even before the bullfight there is much pain that a bull has to go through. Before a fight, bulls are beaten,drugged,hurt,and much more,to give the bull a disadvantage. Although all types of bullfighting is cruel, Spanish bullfighting is the most popular. Here is the cruel process that bulls in Spanish bullfights have to go through:
The bull enters the arena and is attacked by picadors-men on blindfolded horses who drive lances into the horses back and neck area. This is done to weaken the bull.
Next, the bull is distracted by men on foot, who dart around and place brightly colored sticks with harpoon ends--into his back. Then, once the bull is weak by blood loss, the men run the bull in circles until he becomes dizzy and tired, and stops chasing.
Finally, the matador(Spanish for killer) tries to kill the bull with his sword. Sometimes,the bull is even kept concious as it is dragged out by it's horns to be slaughtered if it is not already dead. Then the whole process starts over again with another innocent bull.
