The House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday rejected a Democratic push to ask for President Trump's tax returns. The ammendment, offered by Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) to the panel's oversight plan, was voted down on a party-line vote. The Chairman of the Ways and Means Commttee, Senate Finance Committee and Joint Committee on Taxation can request tax returns from Treasury under federal tax law. President Trump has lied to the citizens of the United States before and continues to lie after the election that he is being audited so he can't release his taxes. It has been substantiated by lawyers and other credible sources that this is not true. The Republicans need to allow this review and end the partisan that blocks it. The American people all agree, even Republicans that voted for him.
