Please sign and share this petition in an effort to support Melbourne in their efforts to ban the exploitation of wild and exotic animals for fun, pleasure and money. I don't know how people can think of animals as a commodity, a thing that they can use just to draw crowds and gain profits. Such exploitation places those people and the animal itself in peril and dangers. Stop the display of wild and exotic animals.

Animal advocates walked into a city council meeting in Melbourne, addressing the Melbourne City Council in an attempt to get them to but a ban on the display of wild and exotic animals for entertainment. A recent incident of distress included a downtown bar Debauchery that brought in a lion, Capuchin monkey and a boa constrictor for a jungle-themed fundraiser. They said the lion was kept in poor conditions in a cage and in the smoky bar. The animal activists also confirm that displaying wild animals can endanger the public.

The organization is known as the Animal Hero Kids, a national organization that teaches about humane treatment of animals and awards students for their work advocating for animals. Another incident that causes this concern of displaying wild and exotic animals involves a circus elephant that ran amok with people riding it. Several people were injured before the pachyderm was shot by police. In all incidents involving the display and use of wild and exotic animals, they faced safety, security, and their own comfort. Please encourage a ban on using these animals in unnatural ways for profit and entertainment purposes.

City of Melbourne, Local Fish and Wildlife Department Officials - Please do not allow wild and exotic animals to be displayed and exploited in Melbourne for profit and entertainment purposes. It is not only a danger to the animals and the people, it causes the animals great discomfort and stress.   Most often they are forced to live in deplorable conditions as a commodity "waiting to go on display". This is very cruel and inhumane for all these animals. Please put a strict ban on the display, usage and exploitation of these exotic and wild animals in uncomfortable situations. If people want to see them, they can go on a natural safari or visit a zoo where most often (not always) treated with respect and care where their surroundings often duplicate their natural habitat. Please ban display of exotic and wild animals.
