Packing YOUR TEENAGER'S HAND GUN for LUNCH on TEXAS COLLEGE CAMPUSES!

Texas is allowing open carry of DEADLY GUNS to start ON YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE CAMPUS. Most importantly the law is stating it is ok to send your teenagers (18, 19, etc. ) with a Handgun Permit to YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE CAMPUSES with a LOADED HANDGUN.

As a proud Graduate of University of Houston College of Pharmacy and former educator with the University of Houston Downtown Campus, this is not smart at all. Some parents have taught their children how to handle fire arms and be safe, but some have only been taught by the range class for 1 or 2 days. Carrying a LOADED GUN into a classroom is placing everybody's life on the line, because life still happens while you are in college.

WARNING:
HAND GUNS can misfire, some people might accidently mishandle them, some could even forget to use the safety mechanism on them. Most importantly, carrying a handgun requires a responsible mind at all times, especially when tempers flare in classrooms, halls, etc.

Many EXCELLENT Professors at many well recognized Universities have resigned, because this makes no sense. Carrying a LOADED GUN into a school hall or auditorium is flirting with danger and will eventually lead to HUGE LAWSUITS against many universities, because of the senseless deaths that will happen. Students will not receive a good education, because the good Professors will leave. College is supposed to be a learning environment, not a WAR ZONE OR POLICE ACADEMY.

When tempers flare after drinks have been served at the game, fraternity house, sorority house or your local pub and A GUN is STRAPPED to your CHILD'S side, all COMMON SENSE HAS BEEN THROWN OUT OF THE WINDOW. Yes, College Students DO DRINK ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, including under age College students.

What about MENTAL ILLNESS with students? YES.... Students are under a lot of pressure to pass courses, keep up GPA'S for scholarships, grants, and compete with one another. Many times they face problems at home and bring it to class with them and their LOADED HAND GUN.  THIS IS A DANGEROUS COMBINATION.
 
Last but not least, if your HUSBAND, FATHER, BROTHER, SISTER, NEICE, NEPHEW, ETC. is the POLICE OFFICER responding to a report of: "AN ACTIVE SHOOTER IS ON CAMPUS", how will the POLICE OFFICER know who holding the gun(s) is the ACTIVE SHOOTER or an innocent bystander trying to protect others? The officer will not know until the situation is investigated. However, many more will probably be killed by the Police, because they will not have a lot of time to interview the ACTIVE SHOOTER with a LOADED GUN.

If COLLEGE CAMPUSES want more Gun Packing people, they should hire more campus police, and undercover officers to patrol and monitor the environments, like the Airline business.

Don’t ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN to be dealing with LOADED GUNS on campus. Write the Governor and your CHILDREN’S COLLEGE. Put them on notice…. If this happens, you will stop your LOVED ONE from attending college there, immediately.
