Thousands of bulls are tormented and killed during bullfights in Spain. This bloodsport is gaining a strong and growing opposition from Spanish citizens, who think that public entertainment can never excuse cruelty to animals.
Recently, more than 140,000 citizens added their voice to the Mallorca Without Blood campaign, led by AnimaNaturalis and CAS International, which aims to end bullfighting in the Spanish Balearic Islands.
Members of the Balearic Islands will soon vote on the future of bullfighting in their region, where 31 towns have already expressed their opposition to this barbaric practice.
Help ensure that the Balearic Islands becomes the third Spanish Autonomous Community to ban cruelty to bulls by urging them to vote to end bullfighting!
Dear Member of Parliament,
I am writing in support of the Mallorca Without Blood initiative that aims to end bullfighting in the Balearic Islands, where 31 towns have already shown their opposition to this barbaric practice.
In your role as representative of the Balearic people, you will soon be given the opportunity to vote to end cruelty to bulls in the Balearic Islands and support the majority of Balearic citizens.
It is important that the Parliament of the Balearic Islands approve the modification of the Animal Protection Law 1/1992 to prohibit bullfighting and all animal fiestas, including bull fiestas.
I therefore encourage you to take a compassionate stance against this bloodsport and consider the wishes of the majority of Balearic citizens who oppose bullfighting. It is high time cruelty to bulls ends in the Balearic Islands.
