Protect Colorado's National Parks From Seizure & Sale!

  • by: Alex B.
  • recipient: Republic Gubernatorial Candidate, Bob Beauprez

Bob Beauprez, the Republican nominee for Colorado governor, recently expressed support to seize and sell Colorado's public lands. He wants Colorado's state government to claim responsibility for national parks, forests and other public lands. Worst of all, once in state control, public lands would be up for sale to mining, drilling and logging companies!

Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park and the Great Sand Dunes National Park stand to suffer if state politicians get control of national public lands. Colorado already faces large questions when it comes to fracking in the state. But if Beauprez has his way, then oil and gas companies would be free to frack in any public land!

Imagine the environmental devastation if Beauprez were to sell Colorado's Rocky Mountains to a mining company. Allowing state control of public lands like these is a step in the wrong direction.

Sign the petition to call out Bob Beauprez — don't sell our public lands! We need to ensure that national parks and forests remain firmly protected by the government and not squandered by greedy companies.

Dear Bob Beauprez,

I am extremely concerned at your belief that states should have the right to seize and sell public lands. National parks like the Rocky Mountains and Great Sand Dunes should not be up for sale to mining, drilling or logging companies. Their status as national public lands protect them from these kinds of environmental dangers and should hold strong!

I urge you to rescind your comments and ensure the environmental protection of all cherished national parks and forests, or else you cannot count on my vote this November.

Sincerely,
