My family and I enjoy spending time together outside. We very much enjoy the time we spend together at the parks within city limits and the splash pad as well. Going to these parks has become something of a hassle lately because of having to deal with people who lack the common courtesy to not pollute every part of the parks and splash pad with secondhand smoke.
I propose that we make city owned property tobacco free. My children should have the choice of whether or not the want to inhale anything other than oxygen and the way it is right now that choice is being made for them. I do not feel like they should have to suffer later in life because complete strangers don't have the decency to extinguish their cigarettes before entering a place filled with children.
Not only is it rude but it should also be illegal. There are parents who would like to take their kids out in public to do things together without being forced to put up with inconsiderate patrons. Please take the time to insure that our future here in the city will be one filled with health and prosperity. Thank you.
