End Community Treatment Orders Under the Mental Health Act

I petition to end Community Treatment Orders in the community as it violates a persons human rights and can result in longer stays in hospital. And you can be recalled as simple as anything as refusing to take medication that you don't agree with.

A community treatment order (CTO) is an order made by your responsible clinician to give you supervised treatment in the community.

This means you can be treated in the community for your mental health problem, instead of going to hospital. But your responsible clinician can return you to hospital and give you immediate treatment if necessary.

There should be more of a patients choice in having a say unless they are an immediate risk to themselves or others. But this is not happening in all cases people are being locked up if they are not immediate risk to themselves or others.

I ask the government to radically change the mental health Act and bring it up to date.
