Victor Street Park in Birkdale, Queensland is a local park designated for the use of those living within 800m. It has been identified on the Redland City Council Open Space Plan as having environmental significance and is a Primary Koala Habitat.

The local councillor independently decided that he would establish a community garden on the site and installed water and power. Then he had a meeting of 24 supporters to begin the design of the garden.

At no time have local residents been asked if they wanted any changes to the park or what those changes should be. Building a community garden in koala habitat is not supported by the Australian Koala Foundation.
