The U.S. government is killing 227 coyotes a day using taxpayer money. The supposed purpose is to protect livestock, but a former wildlife service trapper reported that the practice can actually attract more coyotes.
Wildlife Services has killed 1.1 million coyotes since 2000. That averages out to 227 coyotes a day.
As former Wildlife Service trapper Gary Strader puts it in the documentary, Wild Things, "If you kill a coyote, two will show up at its funeral."
Additionally, aerial gunning (i.e. shooting coyotes from government helicopters or airplanes) is hazardous to human life and can cost more than $800 an hour.
Tell Wildlife Services to stop killing coyotes!
Dear sirs,
We the undersigned ask that you stop the practice of killing wolves for livestock protection.
