RECONSIDER YOUR VOTE TO RELEASE OSCAR CANTU ON PAROLE

On May 17, 1992 United States Coast Guard Seaman Rudolph Soto was MURDERED in cold-blood by Oscar Cantu.  Rudolph was shot three times, twice in the face.  Oscar Cantu was convicted of Rudolph's MURDER and the AGGRAVATED ASSAULT of two POLICE OFFICERS and is now serving a (75) year sentence and (2) twenty five year sentences for his brutal and senseless crime.  Cantu never showed any remorse for his crimes instead after his crimes Oscar Cantu continued to celebrate by drinking with a friend until 6:30 am .  When Cantu returned  to his apartment POLICE OFFICERS were awaiting him.  Cantu fled leading Officers on a high speed chase, at the end of the chase Cantu pulled his gun once again, this time officers fired back.

We, the below listed persons, do NOT believe that Oscar Cantu has completed his debt to the family of Rudolph Soto or to our society and he should NOT be released from his obligation of incarceration of only (22) years only 1/4 of his sentence and his parole should be denied and that he should NOT BE ALLOWED to serve the remainder of his sentence in the community under the supervision of a parole officer.

During Oscar Cantu's trial the judge gave him the oppurtuninty to express his remorse to the family and Oscar Cantu turned to the family shrugged his shoulders and spit at us.

May this statement aid you in understanding some of mine and that of our family and friends loss.  We all live by the laws of this earth and we must all be accountable for our actions. The lack of consideration for human life in the case is well illustrated by the facts.  I am a firm beliver that our actions define our future.

Respectfully,

Donna Anderson-Soto

Wife of the Beloved Rudolph Soto
