Senior Exit Projects Not Working!

According to RCW 28A.230.090 Washington state is not longer requiring culminating projects for graduation. The reasoning behind culminating projects is valid. They are supposed to encourage students to think analytically, logically and creatively and to integrate experience and knowledge to solve problems.

This is a worthy goal, but some people of the community feel that the Toutle Lake School District is not giving the proper guidance to students to succeed. Most students do not have a clear idea of what they are supposed to do. Projects do not seem to be an 'equal' endeavor. Some students are required to do projects that require hours of time, work, and writing while other students do a project that can be done in a few hours.

If you are a person who agrees that senior exit projects in the Toutle Lake District are not accomplishing what they were intended, please sign this petition to discontinue senior exit projects starting with this year's seniors of 2015.
