Save Tracey Farish from leaving Brampton Primary School

It's becoming increasingly clear that the educational system is facing a crisis, and while there are no clear solutions, one certain way to keep children engaged and successful is by supporting great teachers and teaching assistants with passion and proven track records, and programs that enable personal growth and lessons for life rather than just passing standardized tests.

Tracey Farish who has worked at the primary school for over 25 years is one of those teaching assistants who gives her heart and soul and touches the lives of everyone she meets. Have you ever had a favourite teacher? Tracey is THAT lady!

Brampton Primary School has opted, without notice to the community or parents, to make Tracey redundant.

Tracey started her career at Brampton Infants School the year I started in reception 25 years ago in 1992. A lot of our school friends, including myself, lost parents in those first years at school. Tracey helped me and my family deal with our grief and didn't let it affect my school work. She supported me as she continues to help and support our children today.

My daughter has just started at Brampton Primary School nursery. Seeing a familiar face when I took her to nursery was so nice and put me at ease to know my daughter is being cared for and supported the way I was.
We should value the qualities of a teaching assistant like Tracey: hard work, dedication, experience, good communication skills and compassion for others.

It's often hard to agree on what to do when faced with such large problems like the educational crisis, job loss, and budget deficits. But it's easy to see the value in keeping dedicated, talented, and beloved teachers like Tracey employed, and keeping teaching assistants in their roles to benefit our kids. We want Tracey to have her chance to keep doing what she's amazing at – help our children to learn and thrive but make them feel comfortable at the same time.

Please help me by signing and sharing this petition to help keep Tracey where she is needed – with our children at Brampton Primary School.
