Stop 'Cat Protection of Ireland' euthanasing our feral cats

We the undersigned in the Trap-Neuter-Return community wish to express our consternation & exasperation that personnel from so-called 'Cat Protection' are undermining & spoiling our good honest life-saving hard work as TNRers & TNR supporters by going around euthanasing cats that we are in the process of TNRing or rescuing, or have even already TNRd.
On the 'Cat Protection' website TNR is excellently promoted, yet euthanasia is more commonly practiced, with no mention of this whatsoever on the website, thereby misleading the public, as is the title 'Cat Protection'. People naturally assume the mission of 'Cat Protection' is to protect cats, not realizing or being told that euthanasing them is the policy. This is an old-fashioned & barbaric & ignorant policy. There is a fast-growing active movement of TNR volunteers & supporters in Ireland now who recognize that TNR is the modern compassionate effective solution to the feral cat population (as the 'Cat Protection' website promotes!) yet we all live in as much fear & dread of 'Cat Protection' as we do of pest control companies!
When people contact us with concerns about feral cats we educate & negotiate with them as to the benefits of TNR, yet 'Cat Protection' is far too quick to simply offer to "take them away" often misleading the people that they're going to good homes!
(Of course when we trap any feral cats who are seriously ill or injured & unrealistically treatable we do euthanase, but not treatable or healthy ones.)
We are urging 'Cat Protection' to honestly live up to its title & get on board & co-operate with the national TNR programme. Thank you.
PS 'Cats Protection UK' (who have a branch in Belfast) are absolutely nothing to do with 'The Cat & Dog Protection Association of Ireland' & are not happy with the public assuming they are all the same organization, because they share the same title, as THEY have a no-kill TNR policy.. another reason for 'The CDPA of Ireland' to fall in line.
