Help Stop Bullying

Bullying is a worldwide issue, 58% of kids ages 10-13 will experience bullying during middle school. It is important for schools and administrators to be aware of voiceless victims who are being harassed everyday. Itś an issue that needs to be talked about so that victims can speak up and feel safe. More than 16,000 young people are absent from school because of bullying. Victims purposely miss school so they don´t interact with their perpetrator, which is affecting their education. School is supposed to be a place where someone should feel safe and gain education. As a result of bullying, 83% of young people say it has a negative impact on their self-esteem. Once they are bullied they start to lose confidence in themselves and sabotage their school work. Victims feel self-doubt and unwanted from their peers making them a usual target. On extreme cases of bullying, victims have suicidal thoughts, 10% of young people have actually attempted suicide.
This petition is to inform schools and administrators the effects of bullying. Schools and administrators should have an open door policy so victims have someone to confide in. Not only that, but to be more attentive to the issue, for example, keep a certain distance from the perpetrator and have a zero bullying tolerance policy in school.
