Demand the U.S. Senate Pass the Zika Funding Bill Immediately

Republicans in the U.S. Senate are stalling on passing legislation that funds a national response to the Zika virus.

Instead of passing a "clean bill" the Republicans are loading it with politically-motivated add-ons, including support for the flying of the Confederate flag, attacks on women's health care, and removing environmental protection.

Demand the Senate act immediately and pass a clean bill to combat the Zika virus.

It is estimated that, currently, nearly 2700 people across the United States have contracted the virus. Almost 500 of them are pregnant women. How many people will contract the virus before the politicians take action?

The Republicans also refuse to fully fund -- $1.9 billion -- the Zika bill. They are only prepared to authorize $1.1 billion. Most of this funding will come from CUTS the Republicans are making to the Ebola response ($100 million cut) and the Affordable Care Act Fund ($500 million in cuts).

Demand the Senate fully fund the Zika response bill and take action now.
