Make Rosebank Elementary a Spanish Immersion School!

We have all heard of the benefits of learning another language at a young age. And, it's true! Studies show time and again that language acquisition is easier at a young age and it is good for the brain! In order to prepare our children to be truly global citizens, we must include foreign language education in our elementary schools.
I would love to investigate the option of offering a Spanish immersion program at Rosebank Elementary School! The school has a new and energetic principal, who would likely be open to hearing the opinions of families in her area. Furthermore, this type of program is already offered within Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) at Glendale Elementary in West Nashville. Since there is an existing program in place to replicate, implementation of the program would be less complex. Further, the proven success of this model is exemplified year after year by the waitlist that the program there generates.
This petition is to gauge interest in conversion of Rosebank Elementary School to a Spanish immersion school. Please sign this petition if you are or will be a parent of an elementary-aged child, and you would send your child to a Spanish immersion school if that program were offered. I am hoping to show lots of community support, and if MNPS isn't able to immediately fund a full Spanish program, even offering Spanish as a special class (like Art, Music, PE, etc) would be considered a huge win - in particular if it came along with the thought that Rosebank could fundraise and plan for growing the program over a several year timeframe.
Please join me in advocating for an exciting new education option at one of our very own neighborhood schools!
