IMPROVE SOUTH PALM SPRINGS NOW!

As residents of Palm Springs, we are petitioning the Mayor and City Council to address the situation along the South Palm Canyon corridor and take action on the conditions of blight, neglect and dereliction of property as exemplified by the Magruder auto dealership.
This petition is organized by citizens and businesses who believe the city needs to address this untenable situation that is adversely affecting the quality of life and the enjoyment of our city. We love the vibrant community of Palm Springs yet we feel that the conditions at the gateway to the southern end of the city must be rectified with a sense urgency and focus.
We respectfully request the following actions by our City:
1) Demolition of the Magruder building ASAP along with the clearance of all brush on the lot
2) The clearance of brush on all adjacent lots along the west side of South Palm Canyon
3) Aggressive code enforcement to ensure public health and safety in the area
4) A commitment to create a beautiful and welcoming South Palm Springs corridor through public and private partnerships that will make this area worthy of the great Palm Springs community in which we live

It was presented last night at the City Council meeting. The City says it is acting but we'll keep up the pressure for improvements all along S. Palm Canyon Dr.

The petition to tear down the derelict Magruder building and improve South Palm Springs will be presented tonight at the City Council meeting starting at 6pm at City Hall. The petition is not only about demolition but also about the adjacent Rock Garden property and about revitalizing the S Palm Canyon Corridor:
