I want to outlaw the use of shock collars on dogs younger then a year old. Puppies need proper training with patients, consistency, time, energy, and love. My goal to to outlaw the use of shock collars on puppies in general but if I can't do that then there should be a limit on the voltage you can use on the puppy. I am currently watching a puppy be poorly trained with a shock collar. There is no consistency in the poor puppys life making it very confused. The owners have no patience for the puppy stage and set the voltage to the shock collar to 100. This makes the poor 15week puppy pee itself, only to get another dose of the pain. This is absolutely heartbreaking to watch!!
unfortunately the police departments use shock collars to train the dogs they use on the force. while I disagree with the use of shock collars, I want it to get a message out to make it illegal to use them on puppies and or limit the voltage if I cannot outlaw the general use of shock collars. As for the puppy that has fueled this passion, the owners have used the shock collar as a from of punishment and not a resource to train the young pup. The Shock collar used can go up to a 500 setting (I'm not familiar with the voltage measurement) it is set to 100 and it causes the pup to have spasms that create her to defecate herself. This is very heartbreaking for me to see and never want to see shock collars used to abuse dogs ever again! I have already contacted my local Humane society to remove the pup from its abusive environment. please help me stop the abuse!!
