Dogs and cats that were just euthanized.

Petition To Make It Unlawful To Euthanize Homeless Pets

Target:
President Obama
Sponsored by:

Dear President Obama,

Thank you so much for reading this letter. I am writing to plead that you make euthanasia of homeless pets unlawful and in doing so create millions of job to care, walk, train, groom, mandate fixing and regulate commercial breeding of these pets. I had enclosed a petition of signatures and comments from people across the United States and around the world who are against the killing of homeless pets in America.

As you probably already know each year in America an estimated 7 million adorable dogs like Bo, cats, even puppies and kittens are euthanized in animal control facilities. 7 Millions!!! So about 20,000 will die today!  Because of outdated small pounds perfectly healthy, innocent and lovable pets went through terrifying and painful death by means of gas chamber, heart stick and lethal injection. Some pounds like Heard County Animal Control in Franklin, GA are so insufficient it has only 8 runs to house their entire overpopulated pets within their cities and town! And some counties claim they do not have funds to build larger shelters and yet they are able to pay for the expensive legal injections and elect lame statues around their town!

Cruel pet owners are allowed to let vet euthanized their pets for any reasons such as punishment for soiling the house!  And vet schools can also legally take healthy pets to practice euthanasia.  It is not euthanasia when the pets are not suffering.  It is killing!

So please, President Obama, make America humane again. Please stop the killings. United States is supposed to be the land of the free. A civilized nation. The greatest peacekeeper the world has ever seen and yet we fall behind Germany that has long illegalized killing of homeless pets. What are we teaching our children ~ that it is acceptable to slaughter their beloved pets?

Thank you for your time and consideration, President Obama. I had cried for days after knowing the millions of furry friends being slaughtered each year.  And I am not alone because according to Alley Cat Allies survey: 70% of Americans think it is inhumane to kill healthy, curable or handicap pets.  So please be the president to historically change this. After all, we can not expect God to bless America if we continue to slaughter his creations!

P.S. You can see the faces that were recently "euthanized" due to the lack of space:

It's time to stop this barbaric practice! Instead of spending money to kill these pets, spend the money instead on spay and neuter clinics.

The Feline Holocaust needs to stop. Cats nap...only inhumane humans put them "to sleep". Sterilize...don"t euthanize

It is up to us, the rescuers to stop the killing. No one else will step up. We can organize, we can lobby, we CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

We have to fix our throw away American system, and it should start here. Maybe there should be a moratorium on dog breeding until we resolve this problem. We certainly need to humanely educate our children and anyone who'll listen. We need solutions to this unnecessary evil Please help.

Hi, I am also trying to help with this issue. I don't think people should be able to put down animals just because they want to. I don't think it's fair to animals at all.I'm trying to make a petition but I'm only eleven so I don't think people would really listen to me so that's why I signed your petition. Thank you for listening,-Morning R.

L'homme devrait prendre et être conscient de ses responsabilités lorsqu'il se procure un animal. Les lois contre la violence sur les animaux devraient avoir plus d'impact.

stop the killing...as a society are we responsible for all life on this planet, look at global warming, are we playing GOD? we can stop the increase of animals by spaying or neutering them but don't euthanize, there are nice people who care about the animals that's why the rescue groups are working so hard to save everyone of them .....think people its up to us to make this world a better place..remember the animals were here FIRST!

Do we euthanize homeless people? Should we start doing that? If this is our societal culture of pet-keeping, perhaps we should rethink our responsibilities as animal breeders and irresponsible people continue this disgusting cycle. Help wake these people up from their selfish ignorance and apathy. There's much more going on other than how an animal around the house makes them feel!

It's not right that innocent animals have to die due to being homeless. You don't see people killing homeless people so why kill homeless animals.

I think this is one of the worst things that we have done in this country, there has to be a way to open up very large no kill shelters in each state to get the dogs and cats more time to get adopted, rescued or fostered. If on the show pit bull and parolees she can bring in 200 pit bulls from shelters around southern california and keep them at there no kill complex, why cant each state do that but on a much larger scale.

Do we kill people who are sick? No! When a person gets sick they go to the Doctor and get treated! Why should this be differnt for animals?!?! If a pet can be treated or is healthy then there is no reason to Euthanize!!!!!!!!
