Let's Redefine War! Tell the leaders of the world WE have a better definition!

To take a page from the U.S. Congress, I've decided to redefine a word. To change the meaning of a word in order to alter the world in which we live. And this word I have chosen to redefine is war.

The Oxford Dictionary defines war as "a state of armed conflict between different countries or different groups within a country".

Merriam-Webster as "a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations".

The new meaning I propose is this:

War: a war is a fight between the leaders of two or more countries (i.e. Presidents, Congressmen/Congresswomen, members of Parliament, Dictators, Kings/Queens, Prime-Ministers, etc.), especially those who have the right to declare war. These fights are direct combat, in most cases to the death, and do not include outside parties (i.e. citizens, soldiers, subjects, subordinates, etc.).

This redefinition would end the deaths and terrible, life-changing injuries of soldiers worldwide. As well as those of civilians who happen to get caught in the crossfire. It would end the days when a bunch of people we've never met can send us or members of our families out to battlefields for them, while they sit safely inside of mansions back home. It uses commonsense and logic. If you declare war, you must want to fight it. So, go do so yourself. And not only would it save countless lives, it would also save us money.

Please, help to redefine war by signing this petition!

And if you would like to help even more, please help to get the word out. Tell friends, post about it in blogs, whatever suits your fancy. Translations of the petition into other languages would be helpful, as well.

Thanks, and good-bye!
