Stop Horse Slaughter and the Transportation of Slaughter-Bound Horses in Canada!

Each year, approximately 100,000 horses are brutally slaughtered in Canada, imported from the United States, and yes, Canada does kill their own horses. The meat is sent to Europe, Asia, as there is NO market for horsemeat in North America, making this also an international problem.  Horses are often alive when their throats are sliced open, so they can bleed to death. There is no controlled supervison at these slaughter facilities to ensure humane practices. Horses are hauled on cattled designed trailers(the ones used to haul pigs) for 30 plus hours, with no food, water or rest. This is done mainly at night to elude being caught. Please sign the petition to end this barbaric, inhumane treatment.

Thank You

We the petitioners, have signed this petition, to fully endorse Bill C-544. We support Mr. Atamanenko. We want to put an end the barbaric and inhumane horse slaughter industry in Canada. Slaughtering horses is NOT humane euthanasia, and it never will be. It is dispicable. Thank You,
For the Horses,
