HELP END THE CAPTURE AND DISGUSTING TREATMENT OF THAILANDS BEAUTIFUL BIRDS

During my travel around south east Asia I have witnessed the disgusting and inhumane treatment of Thailands beautiful exotic birds. Hung in miniscule ornate cages outside of retail shops/hairdressers and many other locations purely for decoration, these birds can be seen furiously flapping and constantly screeching around their cages, having barely enough space to open their wings. The birds are never allowed out of this prison and their one perch and food bowl takes up the majority of their space. These birds are not for sale and have to spend their whole lives in this enclosure. It is barbaric.
After witnessing this I wasn't surprised when I came across the pet shops. The cages here are slightly larger, and contain between 10 and 20 birds each. These stunning birds are cramped together on one perch, with absolutely no room for flight or even much movement. The stress of not being able to move and being trapped with numerous other equally stressed birds causes them to screech and attack each other. Many of them die before they even have the chance to be bought.
Thailand is notorious for its animal cruelty and its treatment of these exotic birds is causing them to become endangered. If the government doesn't do something soon to stop the capture and barbaric treatment of these birds, they will see the extinction of many beautiful species that once called this country home. These birds are literally crying out to be freed so please sign this petition so that we can make it happen. Thank you.
