WE ARE DEMANDING THE RIGHT TO SMOKE IN OUR OWN HOMES. WHY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR OUR CHOICES? LEAVE THE GOV'T OUT OF THE PRIVATE HOME.

The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, DICTATES THAT ALL PUBLIC HOUSING TENANTS can no longer smoke in the privacy of their own homes, but we must continue to pay rent or get kicked out! The rule is, we must walk 25 feet away from OUR HOMES to smoke! The Tenant at 1009 Renick Court walked 25 feet away from her home and ended up in the middle of traffic. In the front of 1009 Renick Court, 25 feet is standing in front of the neighbor's door. It is not safe for the tenant to abide by the 25 feet policy. With the construction of the way the buildings are, there is nowhere for a person to smoke within the U.S. new guidelines.

AS GROWN PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED HARD, DISABILITY OR NOT SHOULD BE ABLE TO SMOKE IN THEIR OWN HOMES. WE HOPE IT WAS FACTORED IN THAT THERE WILL BE CIGARETTE BUTTS ALL OVER THE GROUNDS. #FINALLY! IT IS OUR RIGHT TO SMOKE OR NOT TO SMOKE.

PUBLIC HOUSING TENANT SOLUTION:
1. Allow tenants with no child under the age of 12 to continue smoking
2. Allow the tenants to smoke on their own front or back steps considering the complex does not accommodate the new rule.
