Updated: TS&CC

First of all, thank you very much for your support and input in this forum - it means a lot, and has opened a dialog on some very important topics. This evening, Aug 31, several paddlers met on our behalf with some members of the Board*, and shared their meeting notes with us.

We've been told by the attendees that it was a productive meeting, and the Board has committed to working more closely with the paddlers, through a new Paddling Committee to be set up by the Paddling Officer, which will include representatives from the different types of paddling at TSCC.

In addition, there will be a new "Yard Space Working Group" - comprised of both paddlers and sailors - which will aim to optimize and allocate space for the various uses on the TSCC property.

Therefore, on the suggestion of the meeting attendees, we will be removing this petition from the web.

We hope you join us in considering this not the end of a process, but the beginning. Both the Board, and the paddlers who attended the meeting, have encouraged us to promote the idea of more engagement with the Club by paddlers of all stripes. Attend the General Meetings and other events, perhaps become a Senior Member (though we still don't agree that you should have to pay extra to have a vote) - maybe even run for a role on the Board.

After all, it is your club as much as anyone else's.

* Meeting Attendees:

Paddlers: Lee Barker, Marcus Boyle, Thomas Goldthorpe, Christopher Hebert, Joyce Seto

Board Members: Danielle Boisvert (TSCC Paddling Officer), John Hawthorne, Kit Wallace, Ruth Watkins, Tom Wharton
