We NEED To SAVE THE OIL

Everyday the world consumes over eighty-six million barrels of crude oil. If we keep this up we will run out of oil by the year 2075. This is extremely alarming because oil is the largest source of energy in the United States and provides close to forty percent of all power needs. If we run out then we will not be able to use cars, agricultural machines, fuel railroad and diesel engines, heat our homes, and much more. We are creating this petition as an attempt to save oil. Everybody who signs this petition should:
Use public transportation to save gas. If everybody did this, it would save roughly 15.36 barrels of oil per person per year, or if 500,000 people signed the petition, it would save 7679833.33 barrels of oil per year, saving 70 percent of oil and adding almost 100 years to the expected oil existence currently.
Use your car as little as possible. For example, try to make one shopping trip per week, instead of four or five.
Buy products that are produced locally. This way there is very little transportation needed to import the product, saving gas and therefore oil.
Turn down the heat in your home. Even a few degrees, if many are doing, helps a ton!
Do not use perfume or heavily scented products. (95% of the chemicals in these products are derived from petrochemicals.|
Reduce the amount of plastic you're using at home and in public. An example is going out to eat, you could simply ask the waiter not to bring you a straw with your drink.
Use soy-based ink pens instead of petroleum-based ones. This reduces the amount of oil used but doesn't make a difference in your writing.
Use alternatives to petroleum-based building and remodeling materials. Again, this will cut down on oil usage.
Buy natural fiber clothing instead of polyester, nylon, and other forms of petroleum obtained clothing.
Grow gardens to lessen the amount of grass that needs to be cut by a lawnmower which uses oil. This could also reduce the oil being used when food is transported to you instead of being in your own garden.

If everybody in the world were to sign this petition, we would save 220 years worth of precious oil. BE THE BETTER PERSON.
