Childsupport for custodial parents in Europe from the US NOW!

American children living overseas are not receiving childsupport from the non custodial parent living in the US when this parent is not wiling to pay childsupport and objects in the American courts. How is that possible?

In the Convention of The Haque, signed by 32 countries out of which 27 countries in the European Union, the recovery of child support from the non custodial parent in a different country is priority.

One country out of these 32 countries, has the right to not grant the childsupport rulings in foreign countries, based on personal jurisdiction and that is the USA. This means that the foreign court has to show that there was minimum contact with the non custodial parent in the US. Although not unreasonable, there is a problem here with this clause.
When non-custodial parents in the US fight the childsupport claims, they get thrown out in county courts, based on this clause alone. Even when minimum contact was established....Hearing officers make their recommendations on the rulings of a judge in a foreign country and dismiss claims, even when personal contact is sworn to by a foreign attorny in Europe or shown in a different way......It is a loophole FOR THE US ALONE.

By not signing the Convention of The Haque like the other 31 countries, the US reaps the benefits of this treaty, but does not enforce it on it's own citizens. Therefor, I claim, it is hurting and demeaning American children growing up overseas, who deserve the support just as much as any other child. These children are children of US citizens, have lived in the US or were born to American citizens overseas.
Enough is enough. The US needs to sign the treaty,  the way all other countries did and grant childsupport for our children. Don't just use free legal aid to collect childsupport overseas, but have your courts show some respect and grant it as well, BECAUSE OUR CHILDREN MATTER! Please sign the petition. Thank you.
