Stop fracking now!

Fracking is a process used by the gas industry to extract gas from shale rock formations by injecting water and chemicals at high pressure into the rock to fracture it and release the natural gas contained in it.  Not only are there valid concerns about the leaching of the chemicals into groundwater supplies, which could filter through to our drinking water, but the process itself is now known to be causing earthquakes in the areas where fracking is taking place.
This process threatens the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all of us. For further information on the dangers of fracking, please read this report released by US Congress recently:

Please sign this petition in support of legislation for the immediate cessation of fracking everywhere around the globe.
We the undersigned urge you to legislate against the use of fracking by the gas industry in your countries.  The long term consequences of this process are that contamination of underground aquifers which feed our water supplies will take place, causing health problems and possibly fatalities for livestock and people drinking such contaminated water.  It is also now evident that geological disturbance occurring in the immediate area surrounding sites where fracking is taking place can be directly attributed to it.
This report, released recently by the US Congress highlights the dangers of the gas industry's use of this process to extract gas:

Please make this a matter for urgent consideration and action by your government and  we thank you for taking the time to consider this petition.
