Call for the modernization of Ireland's current Protection of Animals Act 1911

It  is 100 yrs  since our Irish animals  were given rights.  This  outdated  legislation has  given Ireland  a national  animal  crisis.

1.  Ban fur farming in Ireland.

2.  Ban animal act circuses.

3.  Remove the ‘vermin’ status of cats.

4.  Enact proper tougher fines and with lengthy jail sentences to deter animal abuse.

5.  Legislate to enact a ‘kindness towards animals’ in the school curriculum.

6.  Strengthen the ‘duty of care’ in line with the five freedoms.

7.  Ensure the ‘Enabling Act’ goes ahead in the new welfare bill.

8.  Ban tail docking in dogs.

9.  Bring in new legislation to protect exotic animals.

10. Bring in a spay and neuter programme to bring down the homeless and abandoned problem for dogs and cats.
