Thank you for taking the time to read this petition. I am 18 years old and i am a survivor of abuse. I suffered physical and mental abuse for thirteen years. I am writing this letter because I am outraged by the public's lack of knowledge about what to do in cases of abuse. As a teen I have read countless blogs and letter about other teens who are being raped,and neglected by family members. I was shocked to find that the most common advice was to fight back. People actually feel that going to the authorities will not help them. It is time for that to end. For all abused children there needs to be a safehouse as soon as the abuse is reported. Please stop sending the children who report abuse home, it only makes it worse. Please sign this petition to support a safehouse in every town and city across the state. If we can reach 5,000 signatures I will set up a donation sight with child protective services to provide these new safehouses. PLEASE SIGN!!!
