Continue the Sea World Teacher Study Pass

Continue the Sea World Teacher Study Pass

Target:
Sea World Orlando

After December 31st, 2009 Sea World Orlando will no longer allow Teachers into the park for Free.

Many Florida and Georgia educators have come to rely on the Sea World Study Pass given yearly to teachers in Florida and Georgia to create fun, original and creative lesson plans. The Study Pass has allowed Florida and Georgia educators to enhance their knowledge on many subjects being taught in the classrooms thus allowing the teacher to reach out to their students in a non-traditional means never before possible.

Without the Study Pass, many teachers will be denied the opportunity they have had in the past to further educate themselves which in turns robs the student of a creative lesson plan in the classroom.

As an educator in the state of Florida or Georgia, it is up to you to let Sea World Orlando know just how important the Study Pass is to our daily lesson plans and how denying educators of the Study Pass is essentially denying student’s knowledge.

Please sign this petition and inform educators everywhere in the states of Florida and Georgia the only way we can continue to have our Sea World Study Pass is for our voices to be heard.

I use my Sea World Teacher Study Pass at least once a month. I hope that you continue to offer the pass so my family and I can afford to attend your wonderful park!

The opportunity to explore the park, learn about the animals and even plan trips for students is priceless. Not to mention, it helped me be able to take my own family, which wouldn't have happened without the free pass motivation!

Having a year round Sea World pass, is important to our curriclum. I go there often and take pictures to use during our units on different ocean. We also go to Seaworld on a field trip at the end of the year, and it is nice to go a day or two in advance to help guide the students into looking at the animals that we are studing. Please keep allowing teacher to go into your park for free.

My children, now ages 13 and 9, both benefited from the teacher study pass program. They both attended field trips with their respective teachers and learned a great deal from the personal presentations. Teachers in Florida do not get that many breaks and Sea World offering this program allows teachers to get out of the classroom without it impacting their personal budgets. They already purchase so many extras for our kids as it is. I encourage Sea World to continue its Study Pass program for teachers as a community service and outreach. In the end Sea World is the one that benefits from a positive PR position. Thank you.

With all of the recent troubles in the economy, Sea World can't continue to give teachers the benefit of attending the park to create lessons for their students? Come on! When we attend on our pass, we bring family and spend tons of money at your park-doesn't that count for anything anymore? Or should we just continue to stick it to teachers one more time? I am very upset at this thought-have a conscience Sea World and continue this valuable advantage for educators!

I have been a 2nd grade teacher in Seminole County for 7 years. I work at Wekiva Elementary and every year we go to Sea World in May as a field trip as a culminating activity following our studies of the ocean. Our students are very excited to go knowing that they are going as "oceanogaphers" rather than tourists. Being able to have a pass available to me to attend Sea World year-round has allowed me to stay up-to-date on all the exhibits and make sure I teach my children about all the animals prior to them going on their field trip. I think that many schools give their business to Sea World thru field trips and I'm saddened to hear that we may not be able to receive our educator's passes. I truly hope you reconsider revoking our right to go for free.

As a middle school English teacher, I have used my experiences at Sea World with my Teacher's Study Pass to help develop an extensive unit on Florida's natural environment. See examples of my unit at http://teacherweb.com/FL/MeadowlawnMS/MichaelTaylor/ . Please continue to allow teachers access to the park via the Teachers' Study Pass.

Now that I have a child of my own, I would love to take her to my favorite park in Florida. If my whole family pays, unfortunately, that will not be able to happen. Please continue allowing teachers an annual pass into Sea World. We greatly appreciate it. We also use it on our filed trips as well.

With so many theme parks to choose from in Orlando, the incentive to take my grandchildren to Sea World is that I get in free and only have to pay their admission. Without this incentive, we will go to Universal Studios and the Lowry Park Zoo from now on.

The pass helped my family pay for a vacation that we would probably not take if we don't have it. We still spend the money in Sea World for food and such, but to do both I don't think we will come to Orlando every year. Keep the teacher pass program please....we haven't gotten a raise in 3 years and this s a purk that helps!!

My name is Carmen. I am an assistant teacher at the Seminole Public school. I just moved here from Kansas not to long ago and I had the luck of working with the best group of people I ever imagine. As an assistant we have to be very busy all day. I work with Autistic children and it is very rewarding for me that at the end of the school year I get those Sea world tickets to relax over the Summer and before school starts again. I do not have the chance to go any where because I can't afford to go any where .That is why I always look forward to those tickets. I know that like me there are many other teachers and assistant out there. I thank you deeply for your support always and I hope that you do not make the mistake of taking this away from us. I know times are tough but imaging for us that we have to take a beating on our economic situation year after year. People does not realize that we are the ones to shape our young children and the future of this country. Don't we deserved to be recognize and thank for in this little way. This mean a lot to us teachers and assistant. Sincerely Carmen Emmanuelli

I have found the teacher's study pass to be very valuable for topics in the curriculum. Please do not discontinue the study pass for teachers. With the economy in such dire straits, field trips are not possible for many students. The ability of the teacher to come to Sea World and learn information on topics and/or bring things back to the students is, in my opinion, essential.

This pass has enabled me to take my children and grandchildren to a place where they can learn about animals. I have sponsored classes to this park for the great learning experiences we get. No other park offers this for teachers and I do not go to them anymore. Teachers need hands on experiences just like the kids to help make us better teachers. Please continue this pass.

I am a FL teacher who brings my family to your park every summer and sometimes again in the fall. The fact that my admission is free is part of the enticement to visit your park. It saves us a little much-needed money in this dire economy. I am a middle school teacher whose school participates in your "Grad Night" celebrations also. Please reconsider terminating free admissions for teachers or I believe you will have a lot of teachers reconsidering Sea World. After all, Orlando is filled with amazing theme parks that charge full price.

As a 6th grade teacher who teaches on marine biology elective at a science magnet school, my seaworld trips have been a huge help in designing lessons for this special class. There is so little marine biology curriculum geared toward middle school level. I also for the last three years took my class to seaworld for the end of year field trip. If they drop the teachers passes I think I may choose to take them to the Florida aquarium instead which still offer teaches passes and allows me to prepare for the field trip.

The pass is a great educational tool and a nice small reward for the hours and dedication spent as a teacher. Students in turn gain a better global awareness of our eco systems and sea life in general. I hope you decide to change your policy. The park is still making the money well over the cost of the pass in food, drinks, products, gifts, merchandise. Think how many times the teacher and their family comes and see how much all the other stuff adds up. Please reconsider.

I couldn't agree more with the need for teachers to be able to access this material and visit the park in order to help further educate students about the diversity of life in the world's oceans. For educators, on the limited salary, making this available free of charge has been a great benefit and should be continued! Please, do the right thing and extend this benefit for teachers!

This is a nice perk for my wife and myself and we enjoy coming to park. It is shame that you will lose merchandise and food revenue that teachers will spend for getting into the park for free. I would bet that most teachers spend more on these items since they did get in for free. We have also taken others to Sea World that would not have otherwise gone (and they paid full price). Thanks for your time.

Please do not take away this opportunity for teachers to have a chance of being creative in the classroom for optimal student learning. Science is so important in todays world and we need learning that can only come from hands on experiences of the teacher and students. CEO's of Sea World please reconsider keeping the study pass for teachers in Florida and Georgia.

Sea World had been a wonderful field trip for the students at my school. I know teacher rely on the free passes to preview activities. Please consider reinstating your generous offer to educators. There are not many things that educators get for free and this was a great perk. You actually made money off of me because I always got my daughter a yearly pass too. Thanks for all the years I did get in free!

I've been a Platinum holder since you began the platinum program. I think taking away the free beer and taking away the free passes for teachers are GROSS errors on your part. Inbev makes Universal look better and better all the time.

Sea World brings so much of our environmental issues to life. By making me more aware, I can make my students more aware. The program which allows teachers the study pass, makes it so much easier to visit. Please continue this program.
