Getting rid of the E.O.G (end of grade testing)

Target:
everyone
The E.O.G was created by George Bush and this is holding our children back in schools.  The teachers have to teach according to state guidelines only to help your child pass a test and not learn.  This is not beneficial to our children or our teachers.  It will save over 3 million dollars to get rid of the test but states would rather cut back on the teachers.  Please sign this to help get rid of this test so our children can learn because it is hurting more than helping.

I am planning on being a teacher and I do not like the eog. I feel like teachers are teaching to get the students to pass the test instead of learning things that are important in real life

I have always opposed this type of testing. It is no indication of the abilities of the teacher or the student. Teachers can only teach to the test and children fear it so that it's a wonder they can learn anything at all. Besides if they are not good at reading or math but good at something else like science or history, which really is not focused on, they have nothing that they can stand out in. Talk about a self esteem setback! These test area waste of our time and tax dollars. They tell nothing.

I have always thought this test is a waste of time. What does it accomplish? Nothing, but put added pressure and stress on our children. They have enough pressure and stress with everyday life. Let's get rid of this unnecessary EOG Test.

I never agreed with this way of testing from the beginning. This year my daughter who is a straight A student, made straight A's on her report card but instead of being promoted to the 8th grade she will be placed because she did not pass the EOG test. How can she be a straight A student but then not pass the test on what she was supposed to have learned throughout the school year? The test needs to be abolished.

EOGs put too much pressure on young children and should be done away with completely. Why should a child be held back or go to summer school if they made passing grades on their report card, yet failed one test? It's unfair and ridiculous.
